# Temari.et > Temari.et is Ethiopia's education platform. For students and families: chapter notes that follow the national textbooks, practice questions, video lessons, past papers and timed mock exams for the Grade 6, Grade 8 and Grade 12 (EUEE) national exams, and an AI tutor that answers in the reader's own language, KG to Grade 12 on any phone. For schools: a complete school management system (attendance, fees, report cards, timetables, HR and payroll, SMS to parents). It works in each user's own language, is built mobile-first for slow connections, and supports the Ethiopian calendar throughout. Built by the Temari team in Addis Ababa. Key facts: - Schools collect their fees directly into their own bank, wallet or cash accounts; the platform invoices, verifies references and issues QR-verified receipts. - Core platform pricing: 200 ETB per student per year, paid by the parent at registration. A new school runs its first full semester before paying anything, and pays only if it continues. - 19 schools run on Temari (Addis Ababa and beyond), including Xless Educational Empire, Elon Academy, Ethio Hopes Academy and BrightBrain. Temari.et is INSA certified (Information Network Security Administration). - Every school gets a named support person reachable by phone, SMS or in person; problems that block school operations are answered within 24 hours, usually within hours. Demos are booked by phone: 0976 524 241 or 0988 155 377. - Optional School Plan for schools: 10 ETB per student per month (automated payment verification, electronic receipts, School AI). - National exam practice (Grade 6, Grade 8, Grade 12 EUEE natural and social streams) is free with an account; an optional AI tutor upgrade is 199 ETB per month. - Grade 10 has no national exam in Ethiopia; the exam grades are 6, 8 and 12. - Names follow the Ethiopian patronymic system; dates support the Ethiopian (Ge'ez) calendar; SMS is the primary parent channel. - The app installs as a PWA and keeps working through connection drops; attendance and mark entry queue offline and sync back. ## Product - [Home](https://temari.et/): Notes, practice, past exams and an AI tutor for every grade, KG to Grade 12, and the platform Ethiopian schools run on - [School management system features](https://temari.et/features): Every module of the Temari school management system, grouped the way a school runs - [Student management](https://temari.et/features/student-management): Enrollment, records, transfers, bulk import - [Attendance](https://temari.et/features/attendance): Daily registers, smart ID card check-in, SMS alerts to parents - [Smart ID cards](https://temari.et/features/id-cards): Optional tap-in student and employee cards; a tap at the gate records attendance - [School fees](https://temari.et/features/fees): Invoicing, Ethiopian-month billing, receipt verification, QR receipts - [Assessment & grading](https://temari.et/features/grading): Continuous assessment, marklists, frozen semester results - [Report cards & transcripts](https://temari.et/features/report-cards): Report cards, Ethiopian year-grid transcripts, government rosters, QR verification - [Exams & assignments (LMS)](https://temari.et/features/lms): Question banks, secure online exams, assignments, continuous assessment sync - [Courses](https://temari.et/features/courses): Structured courses and learning materials - [Lesson planning](https://temari.et/features/lesson-planning): Annual, weekly and daily plans in the Ministry of Education format - [Timetable](https://temari.et/features/timetable): Automatic clash-free timetable generation - [Communication](https://temari.et/features/communication): School to family messaging, SMS notifications in each recipient's own language - [Temari AI](https://temari.et/features/ai-assistant): Role-aware AI assistant that answers from the school's real records - [HR & payroll](https://temari.et/features/hr-payroll): Ethiopian payroll (income tax, pension), leave, appraisals - [Inventory](https://temari.et/features/inventory): Stock ledger, asset register, textbook lending - [Pricing](https://temari.et/pricing): Plans and what's free ## Exam prep (free, open to all students) - [Exam prep overview](https://temari.et/exam-prep): Free exam preparation platform for Ethiopian students. In the reader's own language, free, no account needed. Cards accumulate onto one page per grade and subject: 1,585 cards across 86 pages, covering 554 chapters of the national textbooks from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Each page is grouped by the chapters of the textbook it revises, named as the textbook names them, and a chapter can be taken one card at a time on the page itself. Every page can also be downloaded as a printable A4 sheet. Every page also offers the new-curriculum student textbook for its grade and subject as a free PDF (the Ministry of Education edition, and the Oromia Education Bureau edition where one exists), with the book's table of contents. How the cards are made, and how far to trust them: each is drafted from the Ministry of Education textbook for its grade and chapter. A second pass that cannot see that chapter then re-derives every formula, constant and table row, and anything it cannot confirm is held back instead of published. Each card prints the book and page range behind it and the date it was last read through; a card a subject teacher has read says so. - [Study notes](https://temari.et/study): Index by grade and subject - [Grade 12 Physics](https://temari.et/study/grade-12-physics): Fluid mechanics, electromagnetism and the basics of electronics, with the dimension and SI unit of each quantity Every page, by grade. (9 September 2026) at 9:00 in the morning on መስከረም 02, 2019 E.C. (12 September 2026), on one portal at stu.astu.edu.et/astu-results that serves applicants to both universities and returns the admission number, full name, field or stream, status and the institution the applicant has been placed at, asking for a six digit admission number and a first name alone; Addis Ababa Science and Technology University publishes the same answer for its own applicants at aastu.edu.et/result, headed AASTU 2018 E.C. Admission Results and asking for the same two fields; on the same day AASTU published a notice signed by its Registrar and Alumni Directorate giving its cut-off as an average of 69.50 and above for the engineering fields and 48.00 and above for the applied science fields, saying twice that these marks belong to Addis Ababa Science and Technology alone and apply only to applicants who chose the university; that average is the Grade 12 result converted to a percentage out of 100 averaged with the entrance test result out of 100, and for a female candidate three percent is added to the average obtained before the final score is worked out; Adama has published no cut-off of its own, so there is no second pair of numbers to compare these with; AASTU says it will announce registration times and the rest of what a new student needs soon through its website and its social media pages; both notices reached us as photographs on a single Telegram education channel, while the two result portals they name are the universities' own and were open when this was written, and neither university's front page carries the cut-off numbers - [Bahir Dar calls back its alternative teacher trainees](https://temari.et/news/bahir-dar-alternative-teacher-training-2019-ec): Bahir Dar University has told the trainees who were following its alternative teacher training programme in 2018 E.C. and still have courses to complete that the registration to finish those courses in 2019 E.C. is held on መስከረም 07 and 08, 2019 E.C. (Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September 2026), and has asked them to appear in person on those two days; the notice carries the two days and nothing else, naming no office, no document to bring and no later day for a trainee who misses both; Bahir Dar's separate notice for its already enrolled undergraduate and postgraduate students falls on the same Meskerem 7 and 8, which is a coincidence of dates between two different calls rather than one notice covering both groups; single Telegram source of 12 September 2026, with no photograph of a signed notice alongside it and nothing published on the university's own website - [Addis Ababa University has reopened admission for two days](https://temari.et/news/aau-second-round-admission-2019-ec): AAU published a second and final call on 10 September 2026 for applicants who missed the first round of undergraduate admission for 2026/27 (2019 E.C.), as two notices on admission.aau.edu.et, one Regular (day) and one Extension (evening), both open on a self-sponsored basis only; applications run from ጳጉሜን 05, 2018 E.C. (8 July to 6 August 2026); in 2018 E.C. it admitted students placed by the Ministry of Education into undergraduate programmes for the first time, alongside the students it recruits from public sector institutions, which is why the name can appear on a placement letter to someone who never applied to it; single Telegram source of 9 September 2026, with nothing published on the university's own channels and the president's words reaching us through that post - [The Grade 12 pass rate has nearly quadrupled in four years](https://temari.et/news/grade-12-pass-rate-five-year-series-2018-ec): The Educational Assessment and Examinations Service has published the share of Grade 12 candidates scoring 50 percent or above for each of the last five Ethiopian years, as a chart carried by a Telegram education channel on 7 September 2026; the full series is 2014 E.C. 6.80 percent natural science, 1.24 social science, 3.32 overall; 2015 E.C. 5.33, 1.69, 3.23; 2016 E.C. 8.75, 2.36, 5.40; 2017 E.C. 11.80, 5.30, 8.90; 2018 E.C. 16.62, 8.35, 12.85; that is close to four times the 2014 figure overall, and in candidates 70,544 passed in 2018 E.C. against 48,929 the year before, 21,615 more people; the summary circulating with the chart says the figure improves year on year, which the chart itself does not show: 2015 E.C. came in below 2014 on the overall figure (3.32 to 3.23) and further below on natural science (6.80 to 5.33), with only social science rising that year, so the uninterrupted climb runs from 2016; social science grew fastest in proportion, close to seven times its 2014 level against a little under two and a half times for natural science, yet the gap between the streams in percentage points is the widest in the series, 8.27 points in 2018 E.C. against 5.56 in 2014; the 2017 E.C. point of 8.90 is the figure the service uses in its own announcement, but 8.4 percent reached the 50 mark that year and the rate became 8.9 only after the Ministry lowered the cutoff to 49.5 percent once results were out, so one point in a series headed "50 percent and above" rests on a different cutoff and the chart does not say so; the Minister's 22 August 2026 briefing gave 12.8 percent overall, 16.5 to 16.6 for natural science and 8.33 for social science, against the chart's 12.85, 16.62 and 8.35, the same result to a different number of decimal places - [Students who missed the federal school entrance exam sit it on Pagume 2](https://temari.et/news/federal-boarding-schools-makeup-exam-pagume-2): The Ministry of Education held the entrance examination for its federal secondary schools on Nehase 29, 2018 E.C. (Friday 4 September 2026), for students who registered to study there in the 2019 E.C. academic year and were selected to sit it; students who were selected but did not appear, for any reason, may sit it on Monday Pagume 2, 2018 E.C. (7 September 2026) from ከጠዋቱ 2፡30 ሰዓት, which is 8:30 in the morning, at the exam centre nearest to them; students who already sat on Nehase 29 may not sit again, so a first attempt cannot be improved on; the notice names no centres and gives a starting hour with no closing hour; registration for these schools ran through the Ministry's Special Boarding Schools portal at sbs.moe.gov.et and closed on Nehase 20, 2018 E.C. after an extension; whether an application was accepted is answered at sbs.moe.gov.et/admissions/check-status with the reference number issued at submission plus the applicant's first name, which is also where a rejected application is appealed; the portal gives the Ministry's working hours as Monday to Friday, 8:00 in the morning to 5:30 in the afternoon; single Telegram source of 6 September 2026, with no publication on the Ministry's own website or on the Special Boarding Schools portal and no photograph of a signed circular - [The 2018 E.C. remedial results are out, and some students say theirs reads Disqualified](https://temari.et/news/remedial-result-2018-ec-released): Results for students who spent 2018 E.C. in the remedial programme opened on 1 September 2026 (Nehase 26, 2018 E.C.) at result.ethernet.edu.et, the Ministry of Education's National Examination Result Page, which also carries Exit Examination, NGAT, TVET and TDP results; the route is the Remedial Examination card, then View Results, then the username the student used to sit the exam (5 to 15 characters, letters and numbers, and a slash in a registered username must be dropped, so username/16 is entered as username), not an admission number; the exam ran Ginbot 27 to Sene 3, 2018 E.C. (4 to 10 June 2026) and 53,620 people sat it per the Educational Assessment and Examinations Service; within hours students in the natural and social science streams at Wolaita Sodo University and students at Debre Berhan, Wollo, Arba Minch, Mizan Tepi, Semera, Bahir Dar, Wolkite, Oda Bultum and Gondar universities told Tikvah Education their whole result came back marked Disqualified and asked the Ministry of Education to identify the reason, say what it is and resolve it urgently; those reports are students' own accounts relayed by a channel, with no statement from the Ministry or the assessment service and no cause given; no pass figures, cut-off or complaint window has been announced for remedial, and the username page's Contact Support link is the only route the portal itself offers; separate from the Grade 12 result, which lives at result.eaes.et, opens with an admission number and a first name, and whose complaint window closed at 4:00 PM on 1 September 2026 - [Addis Ababa University has opened 200 presidential scholarships](https://temari.et/news/aau-presidential-scholarship-200-places): AAU has set aside 200 presidential scholarships for the 2019 E.C. (2026/27) academic year; a place covers the full cost of study, carries a modest stipend, adds support and training through partner institutions, places the holder in the undergraduate programmes of the university's seven colleges and its School of Law, and is followed by a postgraduate place for the master's degree and the doctorate; eligibility per section 3 of AAU's own admission notice is 500 or above out of 600 in the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 national exam, a pass at or above the minimum score in AAU's Undergraduate Admission Test (UAT), and willingness to be placed after the first or second semester alongside government-sponsored and self-sponsored students; keeping it requires a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above every semester and staying in the assigned field of study; there is no separate scholarship form or deadline, the claim is made inside the ordinary admission application which closes 4 September 2026 (Nehase 29, 2018 E.C.), with the UAT sat 7 to 9 September; the 200 figure, the stipend, the 3.50 condition and the postgraduate promise come from a single Telegram post of 31 August 2026 and are not on AAU's portal, and AAU's own scholarship page, whose address the admission notice prints, did not load on 31 August 2026 and redirected to the university home page - [Addis Ababa University has a second, separate call for extension study](https://temari.et/news/aau-extension-undergraduate-admission-2019-ec): AAU's admissions portal at admission.aau.edu.et/UGAnnouncements carries two undergraduate notices for 2026/27 (2019 E.C.), Regular and Extension, and the extension one has its own rules; it shares the regular call's window (applications 25 August to 4 September 2026, Nehase 19 to 29, 2018 E.C.), its test days (7 to 9 September, Pagume 2 to 4) and its 750 birr non-refundable Telebirr fee; eligibility is an ESSLCE pass from 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018 E.C. at the MoE's required marks, proof of cost-sharing payment for anyone enrolled at another university in 2016 to 2018 E.C., the UAT at or above its minimum score, consent to the field the university places you in, or remedial education in 2018 E.C. with the qualifying exam passed; the differences from the regular call are that no sponsorship route is named anywhere in the extension notice (the regular one has four: cost-sharing, self-payment, presidential and teachers education), an applicant picks three programmes in priority order rather than the regular call's ten, a previous degree or a vocational level 4 COC result is accepted in place of the school certificate and transcript, the admission type to select is Extension rather than Regular, and no extra assessment is named; the extension notice's own step 4 tells the applicant to click Call for Undergraduate Regular Admission and only at step 10 to select Extension as the admission type, so one door serves both programmes; centre, date and time are announced per candidate on the AAU web page and t.me/aauGAT; on 17 September 2026 the university said regular applicants who competed and were not admitted may apply to the extension programme with a UAT score of 50 or more, with no window or address given - [Two science and technology universities have opened entrance test registration](https://temari.et/news/astu-aastu-entrance-exam-2019-ec): Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) and Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) are admitting natural science students for the 2019 E.C. academic year through their own entrance test; open to candidates who sat the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 national exam and scored 50 percent or more (300 out of 600), in applied science and engineering programmes; registration runs ነሐሴ 25 to ጳጉሜን 03, 2018 E.C. (31 August to 8 September 2026), closing at ለሊት 6:00, midnight; registration is online and the post gives stuoexam.astu.edu.et as the address, with www.astu.edu.et and www.aastu.edu.et as the university sites; the test is sat in person at a centre chosen during registration, and the test date is to be announced after the window closes; centres that do not draw enough applicants may be merged into the nearest one; the test covers the Grade 9 to 12 syllabus in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English; candidates must bring their 2018 E.C. Grade 12 result, their exam admission card or an identity document, and a copy of the registration confirmation; single Telegram source, and two cautions verified on 30 August 2026: stuoexam.astu.edu.et had no public DNS record at all (SERVFAIL at the astu.edu.et delegation, while www.astu.edu.et resolved normally), and neither university had published the call on its own website; this is the second university entrance test called for this cohort in a fortnight, after Addis Ababa University's UAT which closes 4 September - [A bank guard passed for university, and the bank is paying for the degree](https://temari.et/news/anbesa-bank-guard-university-sponsorship): Kes Seifu Tesfay has guarded the Anbesa Bank branch in Selewa woreda, Tigray, for seven years and scored 320.25 in the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 national exam, clearing the 300 out of 600 pass mark by just over 20 marks; he is described as an elderly man, is married and has six children; Anbesa Bank gave him an award and says it will cover his full university costs until he finishes, pay his current monthly salary to his family every month while he studies, and employ him permanently in an appropriate role after he graduates; the report places him among 3,146 candidates from Tigray who qualified for university, which matches the Minister's 22 August 2026 regional breakdown (Tigray 3,146 passes at 11.2 percent, the fourth largest number of any region); the report's figure of about 29 thousand candidates sitting in Tigray does not fit that rate, which implies closer to 28,090; single Telegram source of 30 August 2026 with the photograph, Anbesa Bank has not published the commitment on its own channels and no government notice names him - [Grade 12 complaint replies have started, and the cut-off going round is fake](https://temari.et/news/grade-12-complaint-replies-and-cutoff-claim): Educational Assessment and Examinations Service statement of 29 August 2026 (ነሐሴ 23 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም.), published by a Telegram education channel; candidates who complained about a 2018 E.C. Grade 12 score by telephone or text message have been answered the same way and those replies are still going out; candidates who complained online are answered online and read the reply where they read their result, which in practice is the My Complaints button inside their own results page at result.eaes.et; a number of complaints are still in process and those candidates are asked to wait rather than file again; filing itself closes at 4:00 PM on Monday 1 September 2026 (ነሐሴ 26 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም.); separately, the service says the message circulating on some social media pages claiming the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 cut-off mark has been announced is FALSE, no cut-off has been published, and it will check and give the correct information shortly; the service did not say which figure the card claimed, and the mark actually outstanding is the remedial cut-off the Minister said on 22 August would be announced later; official routes remain result.eaes.et, the @eaesbot Telegram bot and SMS to 6284; single Telegram source, and the service's own announcements list still ended at the 22 and 24 August result notices as of 30 August 2026 - [Universities may not move or admit first-year students placed by the Ministry](https://temari.et/news/moe-first-year-placement-transfers-banned): Circular signed by Education Minister Berhanu Nega (Prof.) on ሐምሌ 6 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. (13 July 2026), addressed to all public universities and published by a Telegram education channel on 28 August 2026 (ነሐሴ 22 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም.) as a photograph of the signed and sealed page; the Ministry alone places students who sit the secondary school leaving exam and earn a university entrance result, on both the regular and the remedial programmes; a Ministry study checking that placed students were actually studying where they had been sent found universities moving students between institutions without the Ministry's knowledge and without the authority to do it; the Ministry calls the practice a harm to the shared national character of the universities and a breach of the right to equality and fair procedure; moving a placed first-year student, or admitting and teaching one, is prohibited in any circumstance, and university leaders who break the decision will be held accountable; copies went to the Minister's office, the state minister for higher education development, the state minister for general education, the Education Assessment and Examinations Service and the Education and Training Authority; the Ministry has not published the circular on its own channels - [How to file a Grade 12 result complaint before 1 September](https://temari.et/news/grade-12-result-complaint-how-to-file): Complaints about the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 national exam result are filed online and close at 4:00 PM on Monday 1 September 2026 (Nehase 26, 2018 E.C., ከቀኑ 10፡00 ሰዓት), having opened 25 August; the widely shared address result.eaes.et/complaint is a signpost that serves a How to Submit a Complaint instruction panel and no form; the form itself opens from inside the candidate's own results page, so the route is result.eaes.et home page, sign in with admission number plus first name plus a short arithmetic check, read the subject breakdown, then Submit Complaint in the Action Buttons section, with the reply returning under My Complaints; no travel is required and the complaint must name the subject being questioned; a complaint asks for a score to be looked at again and is not a re-sit request or a route to a remedial place, whose cut-off mark the Ministry has not announced; the only official result routes remain result.eaes.et, the @eaesbot Telegram bot and SMS to 6284, and the admission number plus first name pair is what opens a result, so it should not be given to anyone offering to file on a candidate's behalf - [Addis Ababa University has opened first-degree admission](https://temari.et/news/aau-undergraduate-admission-2019-ec): AAU registrar's notice for regular undergraduate admission in 2026/27 (2019 E.C.), circulated 24 August 2026; four routes in: self-sponsorship (ESSLCE pass from 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018 E.C.), government cost-sharing (2018 E.C. sitting only, at or above the MoE cut-off, plus evidence of the family's circumstances from the woreda or Addis Ababa sub-city), presidential sponsorship and teachers education sponsorship (both 500 or more out of 600 in the 2018 E.C. exam, and placement after the first or second semester); all four require AAU's own Undergraduate Admission Test (UAT); UAT applications run 25 August to 4 September 2026 (Nehase 19 to 29, 2018 E.C.) and the test sits 7 to 9 September 2026 (Pagume 2 to 4); apply at admission.aau.edu.et with a Fayda number and an SMS one-time code; upload the Grade 12 result certificate and the Grade 9 to 12 transcript as PDFs of 5MB at most; self-sponsored applicants pick ten programme options, cost-sharing applicants choose Natural Science Freshman or Social Science Freshman; fee is 750 birr through Telebirr and is not refundable; the test is computer-based on AAU's network and each candidate's centre, date and time are published on the AAU web page and t.me/aauGAT; students who did remedial in 2018 E.C., who studied at another university in 2016 to 2018 E.C. (proof of cost-sharing payment required), or who come from an international curriculum validated by ETA are also covered; the notice was circulated as a PDF before AAU posted it, and as of 31 August 2026 it is on AAU's own announcements list at admission.aau.edu.et/UGAnnouncements alongside a separate Extension notice; a second posting of the call on 29 August 2026 adds that it covers the evening and continuing programmes as well as the regular one, and that a vocational level 4 finisher who passed the COC competence assessment may apply - [The highest score of the year belongs to Jalal Girma](https://temari.et/news/grade-12-2018-ec-top-scorer-named): The 591.6 out of 600 that the Ministry of Education read out on 22 August 2026 as the highest result of the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 national exam belongs to Jalal Girma; the score, the natural science stream and the school (Oda Special Boarding School, Adama) come from the Ministry briefing, which named no candidates; the name and the photograph come from one Telegram education channel on 24 August 2026 (Nehase 18, 2018 E.C.) that gives the score as 591.6 out of 600 and does not name the school; 591.6 is 98.6 percent of the paper and 8.4 marks below a perfect score, against a 300 pass mark that 70,544 of 550,210 candidates reached; no government notice naming the candidate has been published - [The top social science score belongs to Sedem Abdulaziz](https://temari.et/news/grade-12-2018-ec-social-science-top-scorer): The highest social science result of the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 national exam, 576.2 out of 600, belongs to Sedem Abdulaziz of Ifa Boru Special Boarding School in Dodola, West Arsi, Oromia; the Ministry read the score out on 22 August 2026 and named nobody, and a Telegram education channel named him on 24 August 2026 (Nehase 18, 2018 E.C.), writing the score as 576; the school is agreed by three sources: the Ministry briefing, the channel, and the Ifa Boru Boarding School crest visible in the published photograph; the channel also calls it the highest social science score in the history of the exam, which no published record confirms because the Ministry has not released past top scores by stream; social science passed at 8.3 percent this year against 16.6 percent in natural science - [NGAT entrance tickets can now be downloaded](https://temari.et/news/ngat-entrance-tickets-nehase-2018): EAES opened the NGAT username, password and entrance ticket to registered candidates on 23 August 2026 (Nehase 17, 2018 E.C.); sign in to your profile, open Exam Credentials and press Download Entry Ticket, then print it; the ticket carries the candidate photo, a verification QR code, full name and gender, the username and password used to sit the computer-based test, the assigned examination centre, the session (e.g. Day 1 Session 1 morning) and the date; the specimen ticket prints 26 August 2026, confirming the sitting on Nehase 20 and 21, 2018 E.C. (26 and 27 August 2026); candidates must arrive 30 minutes before their session; registering at a university does not mean sitting there, so the centre named on the ticket is the one to travel to - [Where the Grade 12 passes came from, region by region](https://temari.et/news/grade-12-result-2018-ec-by-region): Regional breakdown of the 2018 E.C.
