Terms of service

The agreement that governs use of Temari.et by schools, families and individual learners.

  1. The service

Temari.et, operated from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, provides a school management platform and a national exam preparation service. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms.

  2. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. Employee access is granted and revoked by the school. Guardian access derives from the guardian links a school maintains. Accounts used for fraud, harassment or attempts to access other schools' data will be suspended.

  3. The school's data

Schools own the records they keep on the platform. Temari processes them to provide the service and does not use them for any other purpose. The school is responsible for the accuracy of its register and for obtaining any consent required to record student and guardian information.

  4. Fees and payments

The core platform fee is 200 ETB per student per year, paid by the parent at registration. Optional services (School Plan, AI Exam Prep, smart ID cards and gate readers) are priced separately and can be declined without losing core features.

School fees are paid by families directly to the school. Temari records, verifies and receipts these payments but is not a party to them and holds no family money.

  5. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to breach access controls, scrape other users' data, resell the service without written agreement, or use the messaging system for spam. Exam prep content is for personal study; redistribution of question banks is not permitted.

  6. Content and conduct

These rules cover everything people write, upload or share on Temari.et: chat messages, photos and files, tutor profiles, job posts, proposals, reviews and lesson reports, and anything a school posts for its students and families. You are responsible for what you post.

Objectionable content is not allowed anywhere on Temari.et. That includes: spam and unwanted advertising; harassment and bullying; hate speech that attacks people for their ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or where they come from; sexual content; violence, threats, or urging anyone to harm themselves or others; scams and fraud, such as asking for someone's PIN or password, or asking to be paid outside Temari.et for tutoring arranged here; anything that puts a child at risk; pretending to be another person, a school or Temari.et; and anything that breaks the law.

Temari.et has zero tolerance for objectionable content. It is removed once it is found or reported, and the account that posted it can be suspended or closed. When a child is at risk, or the law requires it, we also report the matter to the police or the relevant authority.

  7. Reporting and blocking

You can report anything that breaks these rules from inside the app. To report a message, press and hold it (on a computer, open the message's menu) and choose Report. To report a person, open their details in the chat and choose Report. Tutor profiles and job posts have their own Report button.

Reports from a school's conversations go to that school's chat moderators. Reports from tutoring conversations, tutor profiles, job posts and conversations with Temari.et go to the Temari.et team. The person you report is not told who reported them.

You can block someone you talk to one to one, such as a colleague, or a tutor or family you met on Temari.et. Open their details, or the menu at the top of the chat, and choose Block. Their messages stop reaching you, and neither of you can start a new private conversation with the other. They are not told that you blocked them. You can unblock them from the same place.

A school's official conversations (a class channel, a group, a teacher's conversation with a family) and conversations with Temari.et cannot be blocked. You can mute them, and you can still report anything in them.

  8. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the service is provided as is; features may evolve. Material changes to these terms will be announced in the app before they take effect.
