Find a private tutor for your child
Every tutor shows a national ID and their certificates before families see their profile. You agree the lessons with the tutor, pay for each month in advance, and the tutor is paid for each lesson once it is confirmed.

How hiring a tutor works
Find a tutor
Search by subject, grade and area. Each profile shows the tutor's rate and what other families said about them.
Send a request
Say which child needs help, in which subjects, and how many lessons a week you want. The tutor accepts or declines.
Pay the month ahead
You pay Temari.et for each Ethiopian month before it starts, and lessons begin once it is paid.
Confirm the lessons
After each lesson you confirm that it happened or raise a problem with it. A lesson you leave unanswered for three days counts as confirmed. The tutor is paid for the lessons that took place, and for one you call off less than seven days ahead. The money for a paid lesson the tutor did not give comes back to you: Temari.et returns it or takes it off your next month.
Questions families ask
- How are tutors checked?
- Every tutor photographs their Fayda card and their own face, gives their certificates, and is reviewed by the Temari.et team, which may set an exam in each subject and always holds an interview. Each profile shows a mark for every check the tutor passed.Read the safeguarding page
- How does paying for a tutor work?
- You pay each Ethiopian month in advance on Temari.et. The money is held until the lessons happen, and the tutor is paid only for confirmed lessons: the ones you confirm, and any you leave unanswered for three days.
- Can the tutor come to our home?
- Yes. Each tutor says whether they teach at home, online or both, and which areas they cover, so you can pick the one that suits your family.
- What if a lesson does not happen?
- Raise a problem with that lesson within three days instead of confirming it, and Temari.et looks into it. The money for a lesson that was paid for but not taught comes back to you: Temari.et returns it or takes it off your next month.
- Which subjects and grades do tutors cover?
- Tutors list the subjects they teach from the national curriculum, KG to Grade 12, with the grades they cover for each one.
