What did Bule Hora University announce?
Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both reported on Tikimt 7, 2019 E.C. (17 October 2026) that Bule Hora University has set registration dates for students placed there from universities in the Tigray region. According to the notice, the Ministry of Education placed these students at the university on a temporary basis.
The university gave the registration days as Tikimt 16 and 17, 2019 E.C. (26 and 27 October 2026). It also named the campus for each group of students and listed the documents to bring.
Which students does this affect?
The notice is for students whom the Ministry of Education placed at Bule Hora University from universities in the Tigray region. Students of educational planning and management, special needs and inclusive education, and psychology register at the Adola Guji Gerja campus. All other students register at the Bule Hora main campus.
The notice also covers new remedial programme students placed at the university by the Ministry in 2019. It does not give their entry date, and the university says that date will be announced later.
When do you register, and what do you bring?
| Day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First day | Tikimt 16, 2019 E.C. (26 October 2026) |
| Second day | Tikimt 17, 2019 E.C. (27 October 2026) |
Documents to bring
- Student ID from the university you attended before
- Your academic certificates
- Two passport-size photographs, 3X4
- Your national ID
- Night clothes and sports clothes
The notice gives no registration fee and no hours for each day, so these have not been announced.
What should you do now?
Confirm your campus
Check whether your programme is one of the education or psychology groups for the Adola Guji Gerja campus. Everyone else registers at the Bule Hora main campus.
Gather your documents
Collect every item on the checklist before you travel, including the ID from the university you attended before.
Plan for both days
Registration runs on Tikimt 16 and 17, 2019 E.C. (26 and 27 October 2026), so plan travel and accommodation for both.
Remedial programme students placed in 2019 should follow the university's notices for their entry date, which has not been announced.
How did these students come to be placed at Bule Hora?
The notice says the Ministry of Education placed these students at Bule Hora University on a temporary basis, but it does not give a reason for the placement. It does not name the universities in Tigray that the students came from either.
On Meskerem 29, 2019 E.C. (9 October 2026), the university published a notice that new first-year students and remedial students who moved up must register on Tikimt 16 and 17: Bule Hora University sets registration on Tikimt 16 and 17. A second notice on the 2019 intake lists the documents, including national ID: Bule Hora University sets registration for 2019 intake.
