What is the registration for?
Tikvah University reported on Tikimt 13, 2019 E.C. (23 October 2026) that the Addis Ababa City Administration Technical and Vocational Training Bureau has opened places in technical and vocational training for young people. They are young people who sat the 2018 E.C. grade 12 national exam, and young people who completed grade 12 in earlier years but did not go on to training.
The training is offered in five fields:
- Technology
- Manufacturing
- Construction
- Service
- Handicraft
Which young people can register?
The places are for two groups: those who sat the 2018 E.C. grade 12 national exam, and those who finished grade 12 in earlier years and did not enter training. The report does not say whether students from other regions can apply, or how many places there are.
The 14 public TVET colleges that take registrations belong to the bureau. The report does not name them, so the list is not published here. The post says more details, including the admission point, are attached above, but the report does not give the figures from that attachment.
When does registration run, and what do you need?
| Event | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| Registration opens | Tikimt 6, 2019 E.C. (16 October 2026) |
| Report published | Tikimt 13, 2019 E.C. (23 October 2026) |
| Registration closes | Tikimt 28, 2019 E.C. (7 November 2026) |
The report does not give daily opening hours, the documents to bring or any fee. None of these has been announced in the report, so check them with the college before you travel.
What should you do?
Confirm your eligibility
Check that you sat the 2018 E.C. grade 12 national exam, or that you finished grade 12 in an earlier year and did not enter training.
Choose your college and field
Ask the bureau or the college which of the 14 public TVET colleges is open for registration, and which of the five fields you can take.
Register before Tikimt 28, 2019 E.C.
Go to the college in person between Tikimt 6 and 28, 2019 E.C. (16 October and 7 November 2026).
Why are these places being opened?
The report does not say what led to the programme or how many young people it aims to reach. It names graduates of earlier years who did not enter training, and the reasons may be set out in the bureau's own notice.
