What did the Addis Ababa bureau announce?
Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both reported on Tikimt 9, 2019 E.C. (19 October 2026) that the Addis Ababa City Administration's Technical and Vocational Training Bureau has opened places in technical and vocational training for young people. The two posts carry the same wording.
According to the reports, training can be followed after registering in person at the 14 government TVET colleges under the bureau. The posts list five training fields:
- Technology
- Manufacturing
- Construction
- Service
- Handicraft
Who can apply for these places?
The offer is for two groups. The first is young people who sat the 2018 E.C. national Grade 12 exam. The second is young people who finished Grade 12 in earlier years but did not enter training. Both reports name these two groups and no others.
The reports do not set a minimum exam result or an age limit. They also do not say whether applicants from outside Addis Ababa may register at the city's colleges.
When does registration run, and what do you need?
| Registration day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First day | Tikimt 6, 2019 E.C. (16 October 2026) |
| Last day | Tikimt 28, 2019 E.C. (7 November 2026) |
The reports do not list the documents to bring, any fee, or the opening hours of the colleges. Neither post has announced them.
What should you do now?
Check that you qualify
Confirm that you sat the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 exam, or that you finished Grade 12 in an earlier year and did not join training.
Choose a field
Decide which of the five fields you want to train in: technology, manufacturing, construction, service or handicraft.
Register in person
Go to one of the 14 colleges between Tikimt 6 and 28, 2019 E.C. The reports do not list the documents, so ask the college which to bring.
What came before this offer?
Neither report refers to an earlier round of the offer or to figures from past years. The places are tied to the 2018 E.C. national Grade 12 exam and to young people who completed Grade 12 in earlier years but did not enter training.
The reports do not say how many places the colleges have, or how many people registered in earlier years.
