Why is an entrance exam being held?
The Ministry of Education has announced an entrance exam for registered applicants competing for open places in federal special boarding secondary schools. Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both reposted the notice on Tikimt 4, 2019 E.C. (14 October 2026).
The notice sets the exam day as Saturday, Tikimt 7, 2019 E.C. (17 October 2026). The Ministry gives the start time as 3:00 in the morning on the Ethiopian clock, which is 9:00 a.m. on the Gregorian clock.
Which students does this affect?
The exam concerns students who registered for the open places. The notice is addressed to registered applicants, so students who did not register for these places are not part of this exam.
The notice says that students who pass and are placed in a school must agree to study at that school. Parents of registered applicants should note this condition before the exam.

What led to this exam?

The notice does not say how many students will be placed or when placements will be announced.
