What has the Amhara bureau announced?
Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both reported on Tikimt 3, 2019 E.C. (13 October 2026) that the Amhara Regional Education Bureau plans to admit and train candidate teachers in 2019 E.C. The intake is in the regular programme, in degree and diploma courses across several fields, at the ten teacher education colleges in the region.
The plan covers candidates for pre-primary, primary and middle-level teaching. Both posts carry the same notice, but neither gives the number of places at each college.
Which candidates does this affect?
The notice is addressed to people who want to train as teachers in the Amhara region. The posts do not state the entry requirements, the grades needed or the fields open at each college. The bureau says the criteria are posted in the compounds of the teacher education colleges, the zone education departments and the woreda education offices.
The posts do not say whether candidates from other regions may apply.
When can you register, and what do you need?
| Day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First day of registration | Tikimt 2, 2019 E.C. (12 October 2026) |
| Last day of registration | Tikimt 7, 2019 E.C. (17 October 2026) |
Registration is on working days within these dates. The posts do not list the documents to bring, any fee, or the hours each college keeps. They say the notice with those details is posted at the places named above, but neither post reproduces it.
What should you do now?
Find your nearest college
Identify the teacher education college closest to you, or the recruitment centre it has set up.
Read the criteria
Ask for the notice at that college, your zone education department or your woreda education office, and check the requirements and the documents it lists.
Register in person by 17 October
On a working day between 12 and 17 October 2026 (Tikimt 2 to 7, 2019 E.C.), go to the college or recruitment centre and register in person.
What lies behind this intake?
The posts describe this as a plan for 2019 E.C. They do not describe earlier rounds of teacher admission in the region.
Both posts were published on Tikimt 3, 2019 E.C. (13 October 2026), and they give registration as starting on Tikimt 2 (12 October). Neither names an official page for the notice, so the bureau's own channels are the place to confirm the criteria and the documents.
