Brihanu Negga approved again as education minister

Tikvah Ethiopia reported on Meskerem 28, 2019 E.C. (8 October 2026) that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) had nominated Prof. Brihanu Negga to be reappointed as education minister.

The same day, Tikvah University and Tikvah Education reported that the House of Peoples' Representatives approved the nominated ministers by a full vote. Tikvah University said Prof. Brihanu Negga continues in his post. Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both say he has served as minister since Meskerem 26, 2014 E.C. The reports give that date only in the Ethiopian calendar.

The approval concerns the Ministry of Education, which sets national policy for schools, colleges and universities. Students, parents and teachers are affected through the Ministry's work, but none of the four reports mentions a change to exams, admissions, the school calendar or policy.

The reports say nothing about deputy ministers or regional education bureaus, so nothing can be said about them here.

The reports name no deadline, registration day or exam date, and none has been announced in them.
