What each exam costs to register for

TIKVAH-ETHIOPIA, which posted the gazette pages, reports that the exit exam fee was 750 birr before this regulation. The regulation itself does not print the old rates.

Exam data for research and assessment work
- Exam result data for research, requested by an institution: 10,000 birr (1,875 USD for foreign nationals) for each study title.
- The same data requested by an individual: 1,000 birr (190 USD) for each study title.
- Using assessment instruments the service has already used: 5 per cent of the total cost.
- Having the service prepare a new assessment instrument: 10 per cent of the total cost.
What the service told the universities
The service's letter, reference 018/7.1/01/929/19 and dated መስከረም 15, 2019 E.C. (25 September 2026), is addressed to all higher education institutions and universities. It says the revised rate has applied since ሐምሌ 22, 2018 E.C. and sets the charge for each examinee, covering registration and exam administration: 2,000 birr for the exit exam, 3,500 birr for the postgraduate entrance exam, 3,500 birr for professional competency assessment, and 950 birr for the remedial programme exam. Payment goes through the payment step of the registration system.
For exams given before the new rate was approved, the letter asks the universities to settle what they still owe at 750 birr for each examinee, and to pay any unpaid fees before the new rate is loaded into the system.
