Who the second sitting is for
The examination is for students who registered to study at the federal secondary schools in the 2019 E.C. academic year and were then selected to sit it. The Ministry held the paper on Nehase 29, 2018 E.C., which was Friday 4 September 2026. Its notice says that students who were selected but did not appear, for whatever reason, may present themselves at the nearest exam centre on the Monday and sit it there.
What the notice leaves open
The notice names no centres. It says to attend the one nearest to you, which for most candidates is the centre they were called to for Nehase 29. It also gives a starting hour and no closing hour, so a candidate who reaches a centre later in the day has nothing in writing saying the sitting has finished. If you are unsure which centre you belong to, ask the school you registered through.
Checking whether you were selected
Registration for these schools ran through the ministry's Special Boarding Schools portal, and the same portal answers whether an application was accepted. The page at sbs.moe.gov.et/admissions/check-status asks for the reference number issued when the application was submitted and the applicant's first name. An application that was rejected can also be appealed from that page. The portal gives the ministry's working hours as Monday to Friday, 8:00 in the morning to 5:30 in the afternoon.
