National Aviation College graduates 1,102 students

National Aviation College graduated 1,102 students in its 13th cohort, about 400 of them in aviation, according to two Telegram channels that reported it on Tikimt 1, 2019 E.C. (11 October 2026). The college says it is finishing preparations to become an aerospace university by 2020 E.C., but no date for the change has been given. Students and parents considering aviation training should confirm which programmes Ethiopian Civil Aviation has accredited before they enrol.

What did National Aviation College announce?

Two Telegram channels, Tikvah University and Tikvah Education, carried the same report on Tikimt 1, 2019 E.C. (11 October 2026). It said National Aviation College had graduated its 13th cohort and that the college is working towards becoming an aerospace university in 2020 E.C.

According to the posts, the college graduated 1,102 students at second-degree, first-degree and technical and vocational levels. About 400 of them were trained in the aviation field. The posts do not give the day of the ceremony, only that it took place before they were published.

The posts say the college is finishing the preparatory work needed for the upgrade. They do not describe what the change will mean for the college's structure, staff or fees.

02

Which students and families does this affect?

The graduation concerns the 1,102 students of the 13th cohort, around 400 of whom trained in aviation. The posts do not say whether current students or new applicants will be part of the new university status.

For prospective aviation students, the posts list five programmes that the college says Ethiopian Civil Aviation has recognised:

  • Aircraft maintenance technician
  • Flight operations
  • Cabin crew
  • Dangerous goods management
  • Crew resource management

The sentence that carries this list contains a typo in both posts, so check the exact wording of the accreditation with the college before you rely on it.

03

When is the change, and what do you need to know?

The posts do not announce the graduation day, the date of the upgrade, admission dates, fees or any document a student must bring. None of these appears in either post.

  1. Check the accredited programmes

Ask the college which programmes Ethiopian Civil Aviation has accredited it to teach, and request the wording in writing.

  2. Watch the college's own channels

Follow National Aviation College's own channels for the upgrade date and for any change to admissions.

05

What came before this announcement?

The posts do not mention an earlier decision on the upgrade or figures from previous cohorts. The 13th cohort is the only past event they describe.
