Who can apply
Students who sat the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 exam in the natural science stream and reached the remedial entry mark. The institute prints the marks out of 600:

These are the same marks the Ministry published on Meskerem 4, 2019 E.C. (14 September 2026) for entry into the remedial programme, which we set out in The remedial entry mark is 240 for men and 228 for women. What the remedial year involves is explained in the remedial programme explained.
How to apply
Pay the fee
Deposit 500 birr into the institute's account at the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, 1000060826057. The notice accepts a Commercial Bank slip only.
Gather the documents
Your Grade 11 and Grade 12 transcripts (original and one copy), your Grade 12 national exam certificate, your Fayda ID (original and one copy), and the original bank slip.
Go to the main campus
The main campus is in Addis Ababa, about 500 metres past the Lamberet bus station on the road towards Wesen. Apply in person at the registrar.
Students who come from outside Addis Ababa get meals and accommodation. Students from Addis Ababa get meals only. The institute's phone number on the notice is 0116464455.
The fields
The notice says students who complete the remedial year at the institute and reach its pass mark can train in these fields, listed in English on the notice:
- Electrical Electronics and ICT: Electrical Automation and Control, Electronics Communications, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Equipment, Cyber Security, Intelligent Robotics
- Mechanical: Automotive, Automotive (New Energy Vehicle), Manufacturing
- Civil: Building Construction, Road Construction, Water Supply and Sanitation, Surveying, Architectural Design, Wood Science
- Textile and Apparel Fashion: Fashion, Plastic, Leather and Leather Products, Textile, Fashion Design
- Agro-Processing: Dairy Processing, Fruit and Vegetable Processing, Meat Processing
The notice does not give a number of places. It also does not say how applying here relates to the Ministry's own remedial choice, which ran from Meskerem 7 to 11 on the student portal (our item on it). If you made a choice there, ask the institute's registrar before you pay.
