When do ministry-sent trainees register?
Tikvah University reported on Tikimt 19, 2019 E.C. (29 October 2026) a notice from the Ethiopian Technical Excellence Institute. The notice says that trainees sent by the Ministry of Labour and Skills will register on Tikimt 23 and 24, 2019 E.C. (2 and 3 November 2026).
The institute also said that late registration and the start of classes will be on Tikimt 25, 2019 E.C. (4 November 2026). The notice covers Level VI, VII and VIII programmes, which it describes as degree, masters and PhD study.
Which trainees does this affect?
The notice covers trainees sent by the Ministry of Labour and Skills for Level VI, VII and VIII programmes. Level VI applicants, whom the notice describes as first-degree candidates, register and study at satellite campuses close to where they live.
Level VII and VIII applicants, meaning masters and PhD candidates, register and study at the main campus. The notice does not say what trainees who were not sent by the ministry should do.
Which dates and what should you bring?
| Day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First registration day | Tikimt 23, 2019 E.C. (2 November 2026) |
| Second registration day | Tikimt 24, 2019 E.C. (3 November 2026) |
| Late registration and classes begin | Tikimt 25, 2019 E.C. (4 November 2026) |
The notice does not list the documents to bring, the address of each satellite campus, or the amount of the late-registration penalty. None of these has been announced in the report, so check the institute's own channel before you travel.
What should you do now?
Confirm your campus
Level VI trainees should go to the nearby satellite campus, and Level VII and VIII trainees to the main campus.
Register on 2 or 3 November
Plan to complete your registration on Tikimt 23 or 24, 2019 E.C. (2 or 3 November 2026).
Know the late-registration date
If you cannot register on those days, late registration begins on Tikimt 25, 2019 E.C. (4 November 2026). The notice describes it as registration with a penalty, and the penalty has not been announced.
How did this registration come about?
The notice names the Ministry of Labour and Skills as the body that sent the trainees, so the registration is the institute's step after the ministry's placement. The report does not describe any earlier round or decision on these programmes.
