What did the Ministry announce?
Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both reported on Meskerem 29, 2019 E.C. (9 October 2026) that the Ministry of Education is offering places to Grade 9 and Grade 10 students in the open seats at the federal special boarding schools it has established.
The Ministry asks students who want one of those places to apply online at the boarding school admission page. Neither report gives the number of open places or names the schools.
Which students can apply?
The notice covers Grade 9 and Grade 10 students who want a place at one of the federal boarding schools. Each grade has its own application form, because the academic requirements differ.
Grade 9 applicants need their Grade 6 and Grade 8 subject scores and report cards.
Grade 10 applicants need their Grade 8 regional exam average, their Grade 9 subject scores, and the report cards for Grade 8 and Grade 9.
The application page does not say which regions or schools are excluded, and the notice does not name any. Read the requirements on the page before you apply.
When can you apply, and what do you need?
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Meskerem 29, 2019 E.C. (9 October 2026) | First day of the three-day registration window |
| Meskerem 30, 2019 E.C. (10 October 2026) | Second day of the registration window |
| Tikimt 1, 2019 E.C. (11 October 2026) | Last day to apply, the deadline in the notice |
The notice sets the deadline as Tikimt 1, 2019 E.C. (11 October 2026), and gives the registration window as three consecutive days from Meskerem 29, 2019 E.C. (9 October 2026). Both readings lead to the same last day.
Neither the notice nor the application page lists a fee, the number of places, or the time of day when applications close. These have not been announced.
What should applicants do?
Choose your grade
Open the application page and select Grade 9 or Grade 10, since each grade uses a different form.
Gather your documents
Have your subject scores, your Grade 8 regional exam average where it applies, and your report cards ready before you start.
Apply and keep your reference number
Submit the form between Meskerem 29 and Tikimt 1, 2019 E.C. (9 to 11 October 2026). The page gives you a reference number to check your status.
If your application is rejected, the status page lets you submit a complaint. Keep your reference number for that step as well.
What came before this notice?
The notice does not explain why these places are open or refer to an earlier decision. The application page describes the Grade 9 and Grade 10 forms and the complaint route, but it does not give figures from earlier rounds.
