What did Wolkite University announce?
Wolkite University's registrar office announced on Meskerem 29, 2019 E.C. (9 October 2026) that new students and remedial students must register in person on Tikimt 9 and 10, 2019 E.C. (19 and 20 October 2026). Tikvah Education reposted the notice the same day, and the Tikvah University channel carried the same registration dates.
The notice says students must come to the university in person on those days. It also states that the university will not admit students who come before or after the dates.
Which students does this notice cover?
The notice covers two groups. The first is new students assigned to Wolkite University by the Ministry of Education for 2019. One version of the notice names the generic pre-degree regular programme, while the other refers to new first-year students without naming a programme, so students should confirm their programme with the registrar's office.
The second group is students who took their remedial programme at Wolkite University in 2018, passed it, and moved up to first year. The notices do not mention any other group.
What are the dates, and what should you bring?
| Day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First day | Tikimt 9, 2019 E.C. (19 October 2026) |
| Second day | Tikimt 10, 2019 E.C. (20 October 2026) |
Both notices ask students to bring the documents below. The two channels differ on two items, and each difference is marked.
- The 12th grade certificate, original and copy
- Transcripts for grades 9 to 12, original and copy
- Four 3x4 photographs
- National ID
- Bedsheet, pillowcase and sports clothes
- The 8th grade certificate, original and copy (one channel) or the 8th grade card, original and copy (the other)
- Nightwear (one channel) or a blanket (the other)
The notices do not give a fee, the registration hours or the place on campus where students should register, and the university has not announced them in these notices.
What should you do before the registration days?
Confirm your programme
Ask the registrar's office which programme you were assigned to, so you know whether this notice applies to you.
Gather your documents
Prepare the originals and copies listed above, along with four 3x4 photographs.
Arrive on your day
Plan your travel to reach the campus on Tikimt 9 or 10, 2019 E.C. (19 or 20 October 2026). Arriving earlier or later will not be accepted.
What came before this notice?
The Ministry of Education assigned the 2019 E.C. intake to Wolkite University, and the students who passed their 2018 E.C. remedial programme at the university move up to first year. The notice brings both groups together for the same two days.
The notice was posted on Meskerem 29, 2019 E.C. (9 October 2026), ten days before the first registration day on Tikimt 9, 2019 E.C. (19 October 2026).
