What did Madda Walabu University announce?
Tikvah University reported on Tikimt 8, 2019 E.C. (18 October 2026) that Madda Walabu University has set the first-semester registration for first-year regular students. The Ministry of Education assigned these students to the university from the universities of Tigray, and the registration runs on Tikimt 9 and 10, 2019 E.C. (19 and 20 October 2026).
The university also warned that admission for regular students above first year, who were temporarily assigned to the first semester by the Ministry, is open only until Tikimt 12, 2019 E.C. (22 October 2026).
Students who are in a semester other than the one above will apply later, in response to a registration call the university will issue. The report does not say when that call will come.
Which students does this affect?

How did registration come to these dates?
According to the report, these students were moved by the Ministry of Education from Tigray's universities to Madda Walabu University. The university set the registration after the Ministry's assignment. The report gives no further detail on the Ministry's decision.
