What has Mekelle University asked new students to do?

Mekelle University has told new undergraduates placed in its 2019 regular programme to report to the university in person. The notice was carried on Tikimt 15, 2019 E.C. (25 October 2026) by Tikvah Education and by Tikvah University, which posted the same text.

The university set the reporting days as Tikimt 20 and 21, 2019 E.C. (30 and 31 October 2026). The notice assigns each field to a campus: natural science students report at the main campus, and social science students report at Adi-Haki campus.

02

Which students does this affect?

The notice is for new undergraduates placed in the regular programme for 2019. Because the campus depends on the field, a natural science student and a social science student will report to different places on the same two days.

The notice does not say whether students in other programmes are affected, and it does not list which faculties belong to each field.

03

When do you report, and what do you bring?

Reporting dayDate in both calendars

Second dayTikimt 21, 2019 E.C. (31 October 2026)

Scan every document and upload the scans to the university portal at portal.mu.edu.et. The notice names the grade 8 card, the grade 12 certificate and the transcripts, original and copy, and asks you to bring a passport-size photograph when you report.

The notice does not give the reporting hours, any fee, or the exact place on each campus, and none of these has been announced in it. It also points to an attached image for more detail, and the report does not reproduce that image.

  1. Confirm your campus

Check your field. Natural science students go to the main campus, and social science students go to Adi-Haki campus.

  2. Scan and upload your documents

Scan the grade 8 card, the grade 12 certificate and the transcripts, original and copy, and upload them to portal.mu.edu.et.

  3. Report in person

Go to your campus on Tikimt 20 and 21, 2019 E.C. (30 and 31 October 2026) with your documents and a passport-size photograph.

05

How were the placements decided?

The notice covers placements in the 2019 regular programme. The report does not say how those placements were decided or when the placement list was published, and neither has been announced in the notice.
