Placement is out for remedial students and for Tigray's university students

This is for students who sat the Grade 12 national exam in 2018 E.C. and whose result puts them in the remedial programme for 2019 E.C. They ranked their institutions from Meskerem 7 to 11, as set out in the remedial choice window, and this is the placement that follows. Open student.ethernet.edu.et/view-placement and enter your admission number, the eight digits you sat the exam under, and your first name as it was recorded when you registered for the exam. A student who disagrees with the result files a complaint online at student.ethernet.edu.et/complaints. The notice gives no closing date for complaints, so file early if you mean to.

First-year students who were placed at a university in Tigray in the 16 September placement have been moved, for the time being, to other public universities outside the region. They see their university on the same page as the remedial students, student.ethernet.edu.et/view-placement, with the same admission number and first name. The Ministry had said on Meskerem 7 (17 September) that these students would be covered along with returning students; the background is in the earlier item on Tigray's university students.

Students who were already studying at a university in Tigray see where they have been placed for now at student.ethernet.edu.et/university-transfer. It is the address where they applied for the transfer between Meskerem 5 and 8, and it signs in with the student's own Fayda number, as the application did.

• When students should report to the universities they were placed at. Each university usually calls its new students in its own notice; some are listed in the registration dates item.
• How long the temporary placement lasts. The Ministry said earlier that students go back to the university they were first placed at once conditions allow, and has given no date.
• Whether a Tigray student can ask to change the university they were given. The complaint address appears only with the remedial announcement.
• Whether students who asked to stay at a university in Tigray were allowed to. The Ministry had said it was discussing this with the universities.
