What has Adigrat University said?
Adigrat University published a short statement on its social media page. Tikvah University reported it on Tikimt 20, 2019 E.C. (30 October 2026), and Tikvah Education carried the same statement that day.
The university says students who studied at Adigrat before, and students newly assigned to Adigrat for 2019 E.C., were temporarily placed at other universities by the Ministry of Education because of the security situation in the region. The statement does not name the other universities.
Many students have asked the university whether they can come to Adigrat from other universities, individually, to continue their studies. The university's answer is that both groups can go to Adigrat University and continue there.
Which students does this affect?
The statement covers two groups: returning students who studied at Adigrat University before, and students assigned to Adigrat for the 2019 E.C. intake who were placed at another university. Both groups have been told they can go to Adigrat and continue.
The statement does not say whether students from other universities who were not placed by the Ministry may join, or how many students the move affects.
When should students arrive, and what do they need?
| Day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First reception day | Tikimt 23, 2019 E.C. (2 November 2026) |
| Second reception day | Tikimt 24, 2019 E.C. (3 November 2026) |
The university says it is ready to receive students on those two days. The statement does not list the documents to bring, the registration process, the hours or any fee, and the university has not announced them in this statement.

How did the placements come about?
According to the university's statement, the Ministry of Education placed these students temporarily at other universities because of the security problem in the region. The statement does not give the date of the placement, and it does not say whether the Ministry has approved students moving back to Adigrat.
Any further detail, including whether the Ministry has approved the move, would have to come from the university or the Ministry of Education.
