Where and when do placed students register?
Mekdela Amba University announced that students whom the Ministry of Education placed for its 2019 E.C. remedial programme will register on Hidar 3 and 4, 2019 E.C. (12 and 13 November 2026). Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both carried the same notice on Tikimt 20, 2019 E.C. (30 October 2026).
The campus depends on the student's stream. Natural science students register at the university's main campus, Gimba. Social science students register at the Mekane Selam campus.
Which students does this affect?
The notice covers students the Ministry of Education placed at Mekdela Amba University for the 2019 E.C. remedial programme. It sorts them by stream, so a natural science student and a social science student go to different campuses.
The reports do not say how many students were placed, or whether students who entered the university by another route are included.
What dates and documents do you need?
| Stream | Registration campus | Registration days |
|---|---|---|
| Natural science | Main campus, Gimba | Hidar 3 and 4, 2019 E.C. (12 and 13 November 2026) |
| Social science | Mekane Selam campus | Hidar 3 and 4, 2019 E.C. (12 and 13 November 2026) |
The notice does not say which of the two days each stream registers on.

What should you do before you travel?
Confirm your stream
Check whether the Ministry placed you in natural science or social science, since your campus depends on it.
Gather your documents
Prepare the originals and copies listed above, and the four photographs, before you leave home.
Go to your campus
Register at Gimba for natural science, or at Mekane Selam for social science, on Hidar 3 or 4, 2019 E.C. (12 or 13 November 2026).
What came before this registration?
The Ministry of Education placed these students for the remedial programme first, and the university announced its registration afterwards. The notice refers only to the 2019 E.C. placement, and the reports do not describe how the placement was made.
