What did Assosa University announce?
Assosa University announced that students whom the Ministry of Education placed at the university in 2019 E.C. from universities in Tigray must report in person to the main registrar's office by Tikimt 10, 2019 E.C. (20 October 2026). Tikvah University and Tikvah Education both carried the notice on Tikimt 4, 2019 E.C. (14 October 2026), with the same Amharic text.
The notice does not say why these students are being placed at Assosa, and it does not say how many students are affected. Those details have not been announced.
Which students does this affect?
The notice covers students the Ministry placed at Assosa University from universities in Tigray. It does not mention students placed from other regions or at other universities, so this notice does not cover them. The notice is addressed to the students themselves, so parents should also read the document list with them.
When must you report, and what should you bring?
| Item | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| Notice reported | Tikimt 4, 2019 E.C. (14 October 2026) |
| Reporting deadline | Tikimt 10, 2019 E.C. (20 October 2026) |

- A photo ID that shows who you are
- Your grade 8 to grade 12 transcript, original and copy
- Your grade 12 certificate, original and copy
- Two 3X4 photographs
- A bedsheet, a blanket and a pillowcase
The notice does not give the hours for reporting, a fee, or what happens to a student who reports after the deadline. None of these has been announced in the notice.
What should you do now?
Confirm your placement
Check that you were placed at Assosa University. The notice does not name a contact, so if you are unsure, ask the university's registrar office directly.
Gather every document
Prepare each item on the checklist, bringing the original and a copy wherever the list asks for both.
Report in person by the deadline
Go to the main registrar's office at Assosa University in person by Tikimt 10, 2019 E.C. (20 October 2026), or before.
What came before this notice?
The notice says the Ministry of Education made the placements in 2019 E.C. The sources do not describe an earlier decision, the number of Tigray universities involved, or the reason for the move. Until the university or the Ministry publishes more, students should follow the registrar's office for updates.
