What did Gondar University announce?
Gondar University has told students temporarily placed there by the Ministry of Education from universities in the Tigray region to report in person. The notice was signed by the university's Registrar and Alumni Directorate. Tikvah Education reposted it on Tikimt 4, 2019 E.C. (14 October 2026), and Tikvah University reposted it on Tikimt 5, 2019 E.C. (15 October 2026).
Both posts give the same window, Tikimt 5 to 9, 2019 E.C. (15 to 19 October 2026). Registration takes place at each campus's assistant registrar office, and students must go there in person. The university has also stated that it will not accept students who arrive after the date.
Which students does this affect?
The notice is addressed to students placed at Gondar University from universities in the Tigray region. The posts do not say which years, colleges or programmes are covered, or how many students were placed.
