What did Aksum University ask students to do?
Four posts carrying the same account reported that Aksum University is receiving returning students and new students placed there for the 2019 E.C. academic year. Tikvah University posted the call on 3 November 2026 (Tikimt 24, 2019 E.C.). A second post, dated 4 November 2026 (Tikimt 25, 2019 E.C.), said the university was receiving students on that day.
The university had called all returning and new students to report on Tikimt 24 and 25, 2019 E.C. None of the posts says which departments or years were called on which day, or how many students have arrived.
Which students does this affect?
The call covers returning students and new students placed at Aksum University for the 2019 academic year. The posts do not divide the call by department or year of study.
Students placed at other universities are not part of this call. Separately, a TikvahEthiopia roundup reported that Raya University has welcomed its students and started its first classes, and that Adigrat University is receiving students too.
When are the reporting days, and what do students need?
| Day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First reporting day | Tikimt 24, 2019 E.C. (3 November 2026) |
| Second reporting day | Tikimt 25, 2019 E.C. (4 November 2026) |
The posts do not list the documents to bring, any fee or the hours on campus. These details have not been announced in the reports, so students should wait for the university's own notice.
What should students do now?
Confirm your placement
Check with Aksum University that you are placed there for the 2019 academic year, and keep your placement details with you.
Go to the campus
If you were called to report, be on campus on Tikimt 24 and 25, 2019 E.C. (3 and 4 November 2026), unless the university has said otherwise.
Watch the university's notices
Look for the documents and fees on the university's own notices, because these reports do not give them.
How did the intake reach this point?
The roundup recalls that Mekelle University received its students a few days before the Aksum call. According to the same roundup, Adigrat University was receiving its returning and new students at the same time.
The posts do not link to an earlier notice from the university that set the call, so the reason for the two-day window is not given.
