What has Assosa University announced?
Tikvah Education and Tikvah University both reported on Meskerem 29, 2019 E.C. (9 October 2026) that Assosa University has set the registration period for first-year students in the 2019 E.C. academic year. The two posts carry the same notice: students must register in person and only on the named days.
The notice covers two groups. The first is new students assigned to Assosa University for 2019 E.C. The second is students who took remedial courses at the university in 2018 E.C. and brought the university entrance result needed to enter first year.
Which students must register on these days?
The notice applies to the students named above. It requires students to attend in person. It does not say whether someone else may register on a student's behalf.
The notice does not mention whether students assigned to other universities or to private institutions have a separate date. Students who are unsure should follow the university's own channels.
When is registration, and what do students need to bring?
| Day | Date in both calendars |
|---|---|
| First registration day | Tikimt 16, 2019 E.C. (26 October 2026) |
| Second registration day | Tikimt 17, 2019 E.C. (27 October 2026) |
The notice does not give opening or closing hours, a registration fee or the place on campus where students should go. None of these has been announced in either report.
The two reports list different documents, so the list below combines them. Students should confirm the full list on Assosa University's own channels before they travel.
Documents and items to bring
- Grade 8 result, original and photocopy
- Grade 9 to 12 transcript, original and photocopy
- Grade 12 national examination certificate, original and photocopy
- 3x4 photographs: one in one report, four in the other
- Blanket, bed sheet and pillowcase
- Sports clothes and other learning materials
What should students do before the dates?
Gather the documents
Prepare the original and a photocopy of each certificate and transcript listed above.
Prepare the photographs
Have 3x4 photographs ready. One report asks for four, so bringing four is the safer choice.
Attend on your named day
Go to the campus on Tikimt 16 or 17 only. The university will not accept students who arrive on other days.
Follow the full notice
Check Assosa University's own channels for the full document list, the timetable and any change to the dates.
What led to this registration period?
The notice follows the assignment of students for the 2019 E.C. academic year. It also covers students who took remedial courses at Assosa University in 2018 E.C. and then passed the university entrance result to enter first year. The reports do not say how many students are affected or when the assignments were published.
